This was a great stand-alone lesson to do between units!
The grade ones have been learning about communities in their classroom and I thought of supporting this unit with a quick, one lesson activity involving a sharpie pen and a lot of imagination! What do you get when you mix these two together? A ton of crazy town fun!
Very simple, I demonstrated how to start my town off by making a building or two on the paper as I verbally spoke my thought process and then asked the students what would make my town more interesting and crazy and FUN?
Well as you can see, their towns certainly came out way more interesting than mine! Packed with slides, portholes, cable cars, overhead cities, traps, and doors galore, this was a super fun activity to support the classroom and reinforce some line work.
