The students have been working very hard creating large dots in the classroom.
We began with the book The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds and we were very lucky that there was an exhibition downtown featuring Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Needless to say, the students were obsessed with dots.
For these, we started with a large black dot out of construction paper. The students cut out more dots to glue on the black paper.
Finally, the students added strips of paper that were folded and twirled to create roller coasters all coming out of the dots.
Very stunning don’t you think?
