E-Book HOW TO

Posted on August 1, 2009 by artlessonsforkids

Many of you have asked me how to make and sell an e-book.  It’s quite simple so don’t be afraid!

THE BASICS IN A NUTSHELL

First of all, you need to write your e-book in a word document or whichever word processing program you use. When you are happy with the end result and you have finished editing and adding nice photos, convert the document into a PDF document. Remember that photos are very important especially an art related book so make sure your pictures are good ones. Why not purchase a copy of one of my e-books so you can see the format? This way you’ll have some really cool lessons to do with your students and have a visual reference to help you create your own fabulous e-book 🙂

Next, upload your finished PDF e-book to a brilliant site I use called e-junkie which will store all of your digital products such as music, photos and e-books for you to sell. They have several plans for you to choose, as low as 5$ a month and the whole process it very easy to set up. I use Paypal and Google Checkouts as payment options within e-junkie and there are two more other options available to you. Sign up for a Paypal account here  if you don’t have an account yet. Since you will be selling books or digital products you need to open a business or premier account. When I did all these steps it was an easy set up so don’t worry.

E-junkie will give you links for each of your products and posting these onto your blog or website is very easy . You can find all this information on the e-junkie site. I don’t know of other similar sites that provide this service but I am very happy so far.

If you have a self hosted WordPress blog or site, check out these WordPress eStore plugins that can also help you out.

You really don’t need to be a tech guru 🙂 Just someone with a lot of passion and plenty of good quality content. There are plenty of e-books out there so make sure yours is a great one! I hope I have motivated you a little to get out there and start creating and selling your e-books too. All the best and here’s to your future amazing e-book(s)!

Let me know how it goes.

Here’s to your success today and everyday!
