Welcome to the January 2016, 5 Day Self-Care Challenge!
You are all signed up and I’m so happy that you will join me on this self-care adventure.

If you’re into new year’s resolutions, I hope that you put self-care on top of your list. Taking care of yourself isn’t just a luxury, it’s a necessity that you need to learn how to build into your daily schedule. That’s right- DAILY schedule. Just like you make time for everyone and everything, you must do this with yourself FIRST.
Yes, yes, I know it can be hard and life just seems to get in the way but like anything else, you have to make self-care a habit and the more you do this, the better you will feel. A happy YOU is a thriving you and everyone around you will feel and notice the change.
Starting on Monday January 4, we will dedicate five glorious days to your self-care so that when you go back to work you are energised, buzzing with excitement, overflowing with ideas and feeling at your best. This is just a beginning but hopefully something you will continue doing for the rest of your life.
Of course, you are more than welcome to join in the monthly challenges to flex those self-care muscles and by signing up for this first challenge, you are automatically enrolled for the next ones, should you choose to join in.
This self-care challenge is all about YOU. Not your classroom, lesson plans, meetings, display boards, observations or even your schedule. It’s definitely not about your kids, dog, partner, home, garden or in-laws and you don’t even need to be a teacher to do it! Nope, this challenge is all about your own self-care and taking about five to ten minutes each day to give yourself much needed and wanted self-care TLC.
Five days, five simple activities, and five opportunities for you to listen to yourself, rebalance and explore the creative and wondrous person that you are. Sounds delicious doesn’t it?
Here’s the run down again of each day’s self-care focus:
Day 1: Finding Beauty in the Ordinary (Get your camera or smartphone ready-no expertise needed, just an open heart)
Day 2: Morning Pages (Mind dump- you will love this!)
Day 3: Meditate (All that you need is within)
Day 4: Movement time (Get outside)
Day 5: Date with the most important person: YOU
BONUSES:
- A daily recipe for one of my super world famous GREEN smoothies (my coaching clients love these!)
- Daily Buddha bowl idea so your body starts feeling even better from the inside and you start glowing on the outside. I call it the happy whole GREEN glow.

PRIZES:

Nuts and Bolts of the challenge
The challenge is to spend a minimum of 5-10 minutes each day doing a self-care activity. I will send you an email with a different prompt every day. You can either follow them or do your own self-care activity that involves a nurturing activity that you love doing and makes you feel good. This could be cooking, baking, dancing, listening to music, walking on the beach, watching clouds, star gazing, connecting with an old friend. The point is- just do it! Be sure to leave your comment on each day’s blog post by following the link in the daily emails I send you so that you get your chance to win one of the prizes.
Remember, in order to win, you must leave a comment on that day’s post by 11:59 PM EST.
The challenge starts Monday January 4-8, 2015, so get ready to have some self-care fun and comment about it. Winners will be announced on Monday, January 11 right here on this blog so stay tuned and good luck.
If you like this and know of other friends, coworkers or family members who might like to participate, please share this challenge so we can get this self-care movement rolling.
With love and gratitude,

Alejandra xx
